Bring Out Your Dead

Alright, there's a pandemic poised to destroy mankind, and leave us all in anarchy. Here's what Singapore should do to contain the spread of the flu virus once the alert level is black. We'll load up dead bodies onto lorries, and drive them off to Senoko Incineration Plant or ship them to Semakau Landfill where the bodies will be safely disposed.

Seriously, there has to be a limit to fear. The way I see it, this is just a flu that's hard to trace. Paranoia is only gonna cause everyone to panic. Furthermore, if the virus mutates to be non-lethal (and it isn't particularly lethal anyway), then the authorities will be discredited for over-reacting.

I think the best thing that each of us can do is to maintain a healthy lifestyle - exercise, eat right, and get enough sleep. That way the flu will not be able to devastate our bodies before our immune system fights back. Symptoms may not even show. Another thing, masks are useless on healthy people. In fact, the moisture collected on the mask is a perfect medium for bacterial and fungal growth - and nobody wants an infected mask.


Thank God most of the tasks yesterday have been complete. Tomorrow I'll be taking CoF. Then it's back to camp. I really ought to get some rest..
